Marking its first time of operations in Ireland, Alkermes provides announced a multiyear, multimillion dollar manufacturing agreement with one of the world’s top ten pharmaceutical companies. Under the conditions of the agreement, Alkermes will produce the company’s finished pharmaceutical product, which will be produced at Alkermes’ Athlone, Ireland service. Alkermes expects this agreement to generate $15 million to $20 million in annual manufacturing revenues by 2016.Fundraising activities included: 70 Soroptimist people attending their Regional meeting wearing pink, and consuming a pink meal produced by the chef at the Beaumont Resort; a Pink Pearl Auction in Whitley Bay’s Trojan Areas; Whitley Bay Lighthouse and the drinking water at the local leisure pool being turned pink for the first time; Whitley Bay Football Club helping the charity by putting on pink shirts for his or her match against Chester le Road and later auctioning them on eBay. Local retailers responded to the task by creating a pink charity ice cream for regional restaurant Picasso’s and glass cakes were offered by local baker Carters. Whitley Bay Chamber of Trade held a best dressed pink windowpane competition and a city trail.
